Subject Log4j SyslogAppender & sysLogUDP source
Date Fri, 15 Jun 2012 13:23:00 GMT

My app is using the Log4j SyslogAppender to send events to the Flume
sysLogUDP source. The events get sent ok, but in my HDFS terminal sink
I need to use some header information to set the correct path and
filename (e.g. timestamp, file-prefix, etc).

I've set the Log4j SyslogAppender header property to true - so I can
get the timestamp, but I cannot set any custom header information
here. Is this possible?

I'm using Flume NG 1.1.0-cdh3u4.

Thanks, James.
