ASF GitHub Bot commented on FLINK-9970:

fhueske commented on issue #6432: [FLINK-9970] [table] Add ASCII/CHR function for table/sql
URL: https://github.com/apache/flink/pull/6432#issuecomment-416170346
This seems to affect multiple (all?) suffix expressions. It is also not possible to use
UDFs in suffix notation which are registered with a name that has a suffix expression as prefix.
@yanghua, can you open a Jira issue for this problem? Thanks.

> Considering "CHAR" always is a keyword in many database, so we use "CHR" keyword.
