Normally, you do that by listening to the "changing" event.

See ListBase.changing for more information...

When a user selects a new tab in a spark tabbar, I want to inspect some variables in the app
and, based on that, decide whether to allow the tab to change. 

Anyone know how to intercept the user's click on the tabbar, then prevent the tab from changing?
