Ok, so, yes, it has been discussed on this list with the conclusion it 
wasn't feasible by INFRA but one one asked them.

AFAIK, it's technically possible to do it using git-svn to create users repo 
and then sharable bares repo (and there're maybe more direct ways to do it) 
but not possible from an existing git repo though.
But what for new committers, should the INFRA create a new repo each time ?

A fork is basically a server side clone. So, there is a server side 
repository belonging to the committers.

We may not want to do this. I was asking if it had been discussed or 
considered rather than a branch approach for things like whiteboards.
