The log is slightly different on windows and OSX eg it unzips rather than untars and downloads
different files. The files can also be copied rather than downloaded (depends on values in
XML config file).

Here's the full log on OSX:

The first 2 downloads are large, the 3rd (player global) is tiny in comparison.

Personally I think the exact steps should be hidden from the user as they are likely to change,
but don't let that stop you from coming up with a nice design.

An error message is shown in the log and as the status message on the first screen:

Here's a few of them:
Error while trying to load XML config file: <errorID> <error message>
IO error loading XML config file: <errorID>
Adobe AIR SDK URL for Mac invalid in configuration file
Please enter valid directory path for the Flex SDK
Native Process error unable to untar Adobe AIR SDK
