Agree. Indeed, I found that it was necessary to consider both source and target. It would
allow for better control to separate them out.

I will give it a go. I think it would be easier, though to first get the various smaller changes
out of the way. I'll try to make separate issues and PRs for each so it is easier for you
to review. Then I'll get back to this "big" issue.

This is a non-ambiguous way to signal to the Converter to treat any Object as if it were a
DTO (at the risk of the caller).
