Subject [jira] Commented: (FELIX-497) Genearated Source url is not a valid url
Date Tue, 19 Feb 2008 00:52:34 GMT

Stuart McCulloch commented on FELIX-497:

BTW, I tracked down where the bogus URL actually comes from - when Maven releases the parent
pom, it replaces the viewable http address with the tagged "scm:svn:..." address (see ~/.m2/repository/org/apache/felix/felix/1.0.2/felix-1.0.2.pom)
which isn't really a valid URL. While I think this is a bug in the subversion plugin (because
the contract for the URL field is that it's viewable by a browser and "scm:svn:..." is not)
we can probably work around it in the OBR code.

> Genearated Source url is not a valid url
> ----------------------------------------
> Key: FELIX-497
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FELIX-497
> Project: Felix
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Maven OBR Plugin
> Reporter: Clement Escoffier
> When compiling the actual Felix trunk, the generated repository.xml file contains non
valid sources. The bundles contains the source information but with an invalid url such as
> <source>scm:svn:https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/felix/releases/javax.servlet</source>
> All bundles have this issue.
> Scm:svn:https is not a valid url prefix for Java. So, when the OBR run-time try to create
the URL object, from this string, an exception is thrown. This doesn't impede the OBR deployment
process as the exception is ignored.
