    The classic way to do this would be:
    
    ```
    return upStream == IterOutcome.OK || upStream == IterOutcome.OK_NEW_SCHEMA;
    ```
    
    That is, express the return value as a Boolean expression. Also, identify the states that
need processing, rather than those that don't.
