Subject [ApacheDS] confusing with ladp schema and usage
Date Mon, 17 Sep 2007 03:10:40 GMT
excuse me , i'm a little confuse with ldap schema.

the object schema and the attribute schema.

in object shcema definition :
objectclass
(
  1.1.2.2.2 NAME 'myPerson'
  DESC 'my person'
  SUP inetOrgPerson
  MUST ( myUniqueName $ givenName )
  MAY (myPhoto)
)

above seems didn't indicated which is dn or rdn, does any attribute of
an object of ldap could be an rdn?

example:

objectclass
(
  *.*.*.*.* name 'vPerson'
  desc 'a virtual Person'
  sup top
  must ( name $ birthday $ organization $ uid)
  may (favorite $ hight )
)

assume there have a partition called " dc=yestalk,dc=com "

so under could be correct:

dn: name=John,dc=yestlk,dc=com
objectclass:vPerson
objectclass:top
birthday:6.6.1983
organization:none
uid:00000007
name:John

----------------------

so under could be correct too:

dn: uid=00000007,dc=yestlk,dc=com
objectclass:vPerson
objectclass:top
birthday:6.6.1983
organization:none
uid:00000007
name:John

----------------------

so under could be correct too:

dn: birthday=6.6.1983,dc=yestlk,dc=com
objectclass:vPerson
objectclass:top
birthday:6.6.1983
organization:none
uid:00000007
name:John

----------------------

so under could be correct too:

dn: organization=none,dc=yestlk,dc=com
objectclass:vPerson
objectclass:top
birthday:6.6.1983
organization:none
uid:00000007
name:John

doesn't it? ----- i just refer many doc and book , the basic always
mention any where ,and the confuse

point still confusing.....

could any one introduce some article for easily understand those
concepture? exactly , i even actually

don't kown the usage of ldap, and how does it serve dns etc .....

thanks for help.
