Subject [jira] [Commented] (DIRSERVER-2174) ERR_00001_BAD_TRANSITION_FROM_STATE Bad transition from state START_STATE, tag 0x47

Mark van den Broek commented on DIRSERVER-2174:
-----------------------------------------------

I'm very sorry to have troubled you with this issue, I should have decoded the Hex-dump myself.
On the Jelastic platform, it's possible to assign a public IP-address to any container. That's
what I did (so the LDAP-node can be accessed by IP-address with Directory Studio). However,
in doing so, all EXPOSEd ports in the Docker-container are (a) publicly accessible - which
is fine - but (b) also seem to get mapped automatically to the http and https-ports, which
I was not aware of. This can probably be avoided by not assigning a public IP-address to the
container, and instead mapping the correct ports of the Jelastic environment (which can contain
a 'stack' of Docker-containers) to the ApacheDS-container.

I'm pretty sure that the port mapping-solution will resolve this issue, so you can close this
issue. Again: apologies for the inconvenience.

> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: asn1
> Affects Versions: 2.0.0-M23
> Environment: Docker containers on Jelastic. Created containers with Alpine 3.4
as well as CentOS 7 and both result in the same 'ERR_00001_BAD_TRANSITION_FROM_STATE Bad transition
from state START_STATE, tag 0x47' error.

> Running ApacheDS 2.0.0-M23 results in a huge amount of the error listed below in apacheds.log.
Log file grows > 100 MB within a day. ApacheDS however seems to function properly. I can
connect to it and manage it with Apache Directory Studio. The huge amount of errors and the
64Kb hexdump on every occurrence, renders ApacheDS completely unusable.
