Subject [jira] [Created] (DIRSERVER-1791) Interrupting a search on the client side cause the connection to be closed by the server
Date Tue, 15 Jan 2013 06:54:12 GMT
Emmanuel Lecharny created DIRSERVER-1791:
--------------------------------------------

Summary: Interrupting a search on the client side cause the connection to be
closed by the server
                 Key: DIRSERVER-1791
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSERVER-1791
             Project: Directory ApacheDS
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 2.0.0-M9
            Reporter: Emmanuel Lecharny
            Assignee: Emmanuel Lecharny
            Priority: Blocker
             Fix For: 2.0.0-M10

If we do a long search, with thousands of entries being evaluated (no index used), then if
the client just stop the search by closing the cursor after having get the first result it
is interested in, and if the server has not yet provided all the results, the server will
get a AbandonCursorClosedException and will kill the connection, forbidding the user to make
another search using the connection.
