Emmanuel Lecharny commented on DIRSTUDIO-845:
---------------------------------------------

Joel, Apache DS does *not* turn the time you inject into a UTC based time. It just stores
what you inject. If you add 20121108144205Z, you will get back 20121108144205Z, which is translated
to your locale time.

in no case the date will be transformed. If you extract the entry in LDIF format, you will
get it in UTC.

Now, we can add an option that make Studio shows the dates in UTC format, that's something
possible.

> We have a piece of photocapture software that takes a photo and adds it to our eDirectory
tree along with the date the photo was taken. The format it uses to store the date in is the
following: 20121108144205Z (yyyyddmmhhmm??Z). Apache takes this date and converts it to a
more user friendly version but this date is off by +11 hours as below.
> 9/11/2012 1:42:05 (20121108144205Z)
