After applying this patch it is possible to generate the pom.xml also. Then after a, 

-  mvn clean install eclipse:eclipse 

we can import the maven project to Eclipse workspace without any problem as I can see. 

I used the package name as the groupid and 'example' as the artifactid which
should be changed to a more meaningful name, any idea? 

And what improvements and cleanups should be made in order to move the persistence-tooling module to directory trunk?
