The Filter must be encoded using UTF-8, not LATIN-1 or any other encoding. 

You have to translate your filter to UTF-8 before submitting it .

Anyway, there is a serious problem though : we don't handle the exception the encoding produces.
Here, the computed PDU is too small to contain all the data, and it generates an Exception
which is not caught in the API. We will fix that.
