Sorry for the delay.

looking at the code, it seems that the entry being modified either does not contain any ObjectClass
attribute, or all of its ObjectClass has been removed because of the applied modification.
In any case, you should not get a NPE, and this will be fixed.

Now, can you provide a set of LDIF which when injected into the server, and modified generate
such a NPE?
