Need a way to set global preferences
------------------------------------

                 Key: DIRSTUDIO-582
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSTUDIO-582
             Project: Directory Studio
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: studio-apacheds-configuration
    Affects Versions: 1.5.0
            Reporter: Martin Schuster
            Priority: Minor

I want to deploy ApacheDS for multiple users, and set some non-default preferences for them
(e.g. don't verify server SSL certificates).
It would be perfect if I could do this in ApacheDS' directory itself (as this gets mounted
on the machines of the users), so I don't have to set it on every single machine.

Stefan Seelmann wrote to the mailinglist on 2009-11-09:
"sorry, but global preferences are not possible in the current version.
The eclipse framework defines a hierarchy of different preference
scopes (per configuration, per instance, default), I think that could
be used for your requirement, but this isn't used in Studio."
