Stefan Seelmann commented on DIRSERVER-1175:
--------------------------------------------

In another thread Mathijs de Groot reported that an similar issue happens on windows.

1. Install ApacheDS (e.g. to "C:\Program Files\Apache Directory Server\")
2. Install ApacheDS to another folder (e.g. to "C:\Program Files\Apache Directory Server 2\")
3. Uninstall the second installation and delete the installation folder (in this case "C:\Program
Files\Apache Directory Server 2\")
3. Uninstall the first installation: The uninstaller deletes all files in C:\ like AUTOEXEC.BAT
and NTDETECT.COM !!!

> Martin Schuster reported us on the Users ML that his /root partition has been completely
erased when he tried to install Apache DS 1.5.2 from the binary installer.
> Here's the complete ML thread: http://markmail.org/message/jwl3mlegy2vudzsz
> The problem occured in the bootstrap script which extracts the installer and runs it.
> We really should add some code that prevent the bootstrap script from continuing if an
error occurs.
