You are right here that the DS can be used with any other directory server and the default LDAP connection port is 389. I have found in the basic user guide a example, which descripes the connection after a fresh installation of the Apache Directory server (local). You can close this entry, but in my mind a small hint in the documentation would be nice. I think people like me, which starting to use the Apache Directory server doing follow steps: Installing the Apache Directory server (local) on the default port 10389. Then using the suggested method from the homepage, to make a connection (with the Apache Directory Studio). Installing the studio and reading the documentation ... and then wondering why the connection cannot etablished. Of course the documentation is not wrong, but the small hint would nice ;-) > user guide point to a wrong default port > ---------------------------------------- > > Key: DIRSTUDIO-300 > URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIRSTUDIO-300 > Project: Directory Studio > Issue Type: Bug > Reporter: Thomas Wabner > Priority: Minor > > The port given in the user guide http://directory.apache.org/studio/static/users_guide/ldap_browser/gettingstarted_create_connection.html points to 389. But after installing the DS on localhost the standard port is 10389. This should also reflected in the documentation. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - You can reply to this email to add a comment to the issue online.
