Another possibility would be to rely on the server capability to return this 'count'. ADS
can't do that atm, but we are seriously thinking about adding some extendedOperation for that
purpose.

For other LDAP servers, I see no other possibility than storing the count when you get the
request result, or to do a special request with the '1.1' as returned attribute, in order
to avoid a transfer of all the attributes (costly, and to be double checked ...)
