Kiran, Emmanuel,

I gave Kiran a rundown last week on BTree based partition structure without going into search details.  He started this document on my request.  I have yet to check it out.  He has no access to confluence.  Might be a good idea to just get him confluence access.

Also Emmanuel this document on partition structure in confluence is old and probably not accurate today.

I'm going to try to find some free time next week to get Kiran up to speed on other details as well as the way the search algorithm works and how it needs to be changed to now use Cursors instead of NamingEnumerations. Anyone is welcome to hang: no time scheduled yet but we'll let the list know when we do it on IRC.

Kiran, this is very interesting  !

You might want to look at what has already written here : http://directory.apache.org/apacheds/1.5/backend.html

This is a document which has been started months ago (years ? :) but never updated since. It would be an excellent idea if your doc and this doc could be merged to produce an updated and completed version !

Thanks a lot !
