If so, then this is clearly a bug.

However, for performance reasons, I suggest you to avoid using *not* filters, even on indexed
attributes. Doing so will simply result on a full scan, with rejection of entries which attribute
exist. Of course, this is just and advice, and sometime, it's simply not possible ...
