It is not necessarily so that your ou=com is equivalent to a partition 
in ApacheDS (or a naming context in any other server solution), the 
suffix name may also be "dc=example,dc=com" (as in our example partition 
in the default server.xml).

Perhaps rightmost part of the DN is a good term, although I do not know 
  many cases in which it would be helpful to use ...
