Subject [jira] Commented: (DIREVE-122) Proper LDAP error checking removed in migrations
Date Sat, 11 Dec 2004 07:09:09 GMT

Alex Karasulu commented on DIREVE-122:

I have put some protection where I thought it will be nice to have. However I'm begining
to think something can easily be missed. Or something can be swapped out. For example the
check for lack of a parent is deep in the bowls of the JdbmDatabase. If we switch to another
database the check has to be reimplemented.

This calls for an interceptor and we already have on in hand: the exception interceptor.

> Looks like code that checked things like existance of parents to allow an add or other
things like a test for children on a delete to disallow it was removed while migrating code
into separate protocol and seda packages. I have to reintroduce this to prevent the wacky
stuff that Mark observed with add operations.

pretty easily.
