There is a bug in Maven 1.0.1 where deps are not inherited with POM 
extention so we went back to using 1.0.  Here take a look at this email:

Oh I'll try to get to those java5 errors that did not take after the 
patch.  Sorry for the inconvenience.  This is #2 after the deadlock 
testing I need to do.
