Subject [jira] Commented: (DIREVE-62) write docs for how to use the JNDI provider
Date Fri, 03 Dec 2004 20:31:23 GMT

Mark Swanson commented on DIREVE-62:
------------------------------------

1. To start eve and use your own specific properties do this:

java -jar eve/target/eve-SNAPSHOT.jar eve/eve.properties

2. To start eve as non-root and still listen to port 389 do this:

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -p tcp --dport 389 -i eth0 -j REDIRECT --to-port 10389
eve.properties requires something like this:
eve.net.ldap.port=10389
eve.net.ldaps.port=10636

NOTE: this doesn't affect local TCP requests coming from the same machine so your local test
code or ldap viewer would still have to connect to 10389.

> We need some documentation describing all the properties with some sample code perhaps
from the test cases. We also need a nice matrix on all properties. It's also a good idea
to update the website with all this new documentation in preparation for A/C as well.
