Subject [jira] Commented: (DIREVE-96) Anon binds cause NPE in handlers (null ictx)

Alex Karasulu commented on DIREVE-96:

This is obviously due to not binding before a new client issues a search request. Basically
requests other than BindRequests can be issued before a BindRequest. This is essentially
an anonymous request which means its an anonymous bind.

Fixing this is easy. We simply need to check for null initial contexts in all protocol request
handlers except the BindRequest handler. If the initial context is null that means this is
an anonymous request. We then need to get an initial context as an anonymous user and store
it now as the initial context to reuse for the client.

> Anonymous binds are causing a failure in the protocol handler where the initial context
is null. We need to rectify this problem. Also what ever policy wrt anon binds is in the
backend should be applied to the frontend protocol provider.
