[ http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIREVE-66?page=history ] Alex Karasulu closed DIREVE-66: ------------------------------- Resolution: Fixed Well its working like a champion now. > Automagically create ou=users under system > ------------------------------------------ > > Key: DIREVE-66 > URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DIREVE-66 > Project: Directory Eve > Type: Task > Components: jndi-provider > Reporter: Alex Karasulu > Assignee: Alex Karasulu > > We need to start storing regular users as well as many other things like groups under the ou=system context. Let's start first by managing users under ou=users,ou=system. This container should automatically get created on the first db-creating bootstrap. The admin user at uid=admin,ou=system is very special. This entry was not placed under ou=users,ou=system on purpose. Other administrative users can exist as ou=users subordinates however this user is not there for security reasons. First its clear what its for and secondly we don't want someone searching for it under ou=users. > If we really want to an alias can be created in uid=admin,ou=users,ou=system to point to uid=admin,ou=system. However I recommend against this. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://issues.apache.org/jira/secure/Administrators.jspa - If you want more information on JIRA, or have a bug to report see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira
