Subject RE: Personal attacks and respect

Nicola,

I'd like to see discussion turn back to technical matters. However, your
points are all good.

Would you please prepare and commit a page discussing both the ideals and
realistic things to do when debate becomes a bit heated? You have as much
personal experience as to what works (and doesn't) as any, and it would
provide a hook for others to contribute their insights in that aspect of
community dynamics. Moving to a web page would also provide the ability to
cover more areas, with references, such as bike shedding, drowning out
opposing voices with volume, etc., and other forms of discordant
communication.

Anyone who wants to discuss community building is welcome to do so on
general@, but I'd like to see this list return to technical discussion of
the project at hand.

Thanks, Folks.
