Ok we're just going to fall back on using OpenJMS for the time being. Later on we'll switch
to using JGroups which is much more ideal.

Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: DIRRMS-5
    Summary: Research replication mechanisms
       Type: Task

     Status: Closed
   Priority: Major
 Resolution: WON'T FIX

    Project: Directory RMS
 Components:
             Berkeley JE
             JDBM

   Assignee: Alex Karasulu
   Reporter: Alex Karasulu

    Created: Mon, 12 Apr 2004 8:29 AM
    Updated: Tue, 27 Apr 2004 1:10 PM

Description:
Unlike the JNDI provider which works straight against a replicated directory the JE and JDBM
providers will need to be part of a replication system. There are many ways in which this
can be done. Here are a few candidate mechanisms and packages we can use.

Message Topics - OpenJMS, JMS4Spread

MultiCast Rep - JGroups, JCluster

Let's research how others are using this stuff. Namely it seems like tomcat (in a plugable
fashion) and jcs is using JGroups too. Let's take a detailed look at how they are using it.
