Your understanding is correct: I have mapped the OS/root volumes for the instances to 'system'
and additional storage volumes to 'data'. Both are not ephemeral: instances are stateful and
storage persists after instance power down. 'data' volumes can be attached and detached to
other instances (as long as they are in the STOPPED state) in the same virtual system (VSYS).
