That was it. thanks!! 
One other thing, just to be sure, and I'll pass it
along to all Torque users here..

If anyone has:
Torque.closeConnection(dbConn);
Torque.shutdown();

It should be replaced with:
dbConn.close();
dbConn = null;

Correct?
