Actualy it is possible..

xml:
 <table name="bogtest.LoginType"
and
the generated SQL is just fine ...but I had to patch the torque-gen source
in the JavaNamingMethod.java
i have added the following code to the result string in the underscore type
.replaceAll("\\.","_");
to replace all . (dots) as they break the java name (as class name)
i havent fully tested the result code yet ...but i see optimistic things

the peer contains the following :

    /** the default database name for this class */
    public static final String DATABASE_NAME = "globalservices";

     /** the table name for this class */
    public static final String TABLE_NAME = "bogtest.LoginType";

so i suppose everything should be just fine.
