I am all for evaluating them and seeing if any are flexible enough to 
do this -- you willing to help?

The JISP thing is annoying, I have been following that too. It does 
remind me of the absolutely critical importance of maintaining loose 
coupling between components though -- something we need to make sure we 
continue to do in OJB.
