This is not a bug report, but a question that should be addressed to the user list!

To answer your questions:
1. Objects are loaded because you use OJB to load some objects. OJB is not loading any data
without reason! What you see is the result of you specific configuration.
2. you can define the granularity of loaded object graphs by using several techniques in the
mapping repository.
using proxies, setting auto-retrieve="false" etc.
3. There are no known memory issues in current OJB releases. Thus there are also no changes
in this direction to be expected for 1.0.
