Subject AW: PK and FK in one field results in ID-inflation
Date Wed, 14 May 2003 15:31:26 GMT
Here is the code where the problem occures:
It is from OJB 0.9.4 SingleVMBrokerImpl.assertFkAssignment row 622-627

                FieldDescriptor fld = null;
                for (int i = 0; i < objFkFields.length; i++)
                    fld = objFkFields[i];
                    fld.getPersistentField().set(obj, refPkValues[i]);
The problem is that fld is a PK of obj and the assignment shall be done in the other direction?
Mabe?? Don't know????

currently we are using OJB 0.9.4 in our project. In know that this is not the actual version
but our project is in the last phase and we don't want to change now.
The problem we have is that if the database scheme (which we can not modify) uses the same
field as primary key and as foreign key than OJB will produce multiple identities.
This is not very importand if we have enough IDs for the next century, but we havent ;-)

My question is: Does anybody know about the problem?

If (answer==yes) is the problem fixed.

if(answer==yes) in which version of OJB and what is changed since V0.9.4
