yep.

You mean DataAware components or something? If so probably.

If you mean something like admin tools ala SquirrelSQL then probablty.

Depends on your definition of "database" but yes mostly. It would allow things 
like Jisp (BTree library for writing storages on filesystem), UI access 
libraries (ie DataAware components or forms generators), db pools/managers, 
different databases themselves (xml, OO, relational) etc

yep. But not really different from how xml <--> jakarta overlap. Both have web 
app frameworks both do funky stuff with XML.
