I really doubt that rs.next() throws a NPE - my guess is that rs was
never set. You can test this by adding
System.out.println("Value of rs: "+rs);
on the line above the while loop. It will probably print
Value of rs: null
Is it possible to attach the java program? That would make it easier to
help.
