It certainly isn't clear...

It talks about an "encrypted user ID", whatever that is, and
"password security", all in the context of the network server.
That all sounds like it's trying to protect the password.

Then it goes on to talk about an "encrypted database".  I can't
tell if they changed the subject in mid paragraph, or if these
things are somehow connected.
