Looking at your discussion here

http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/BrowseList?listName=nbusers&by=thread&from=28252

is there a chance you have the jdbc driver name wrong?

The Derby embedded driver is

org.apache.derby.jdbc.EmbeddedDriver

I'm asking because the error in this e-mail is missing the 'jdbc'
element of the package name.

http://www.netbeans.org/servlets/ReadMsg?msgId=893142&listName=nbusers

The error message is " Unable to add
connection, cannot
establish a connection to jdbc:derby:cookbookA using
org.apache.derby.EmbeddedDriver
(Database 'cookbookA' not found).
