I was successful using on two different Windows 10 systems,
one with JDK 9 and one with JDK 11. I ran a variety of tests, examined
the docs, checked signatures, and successfully accessed and upgraded a
long-standing database that I've got access to.

I also (briefly) verified that I can use on a Fedora 27
system without problems.

Thanks Rick for the tireless work on integrating Derby with the new
Java Module system; I learned a lot by watching and asking you
numberless questions along the way :)
