As per the JIRA, I have removed the column "size_problem" from the insertStr (Statements.java) query and rebuilt the jars. Now, when I am trying to run the MailJdbc test it is taking too much time(potentially due to many sleep calls). I have left this test running for 4 hours and I still see it is running. I have attached the Activity.out on JIRA for the MailJdbc test. Please let me know if I can upload the patch on the jira, so that it can be tested on some test server for longer duration. Regards, Sandeep. I have also copied the derby.properties with 'derby.database.sqlAuthori= zation' already set to true.

Hi Sandeep,

It sounds like you didn't quite get the derby.properties file in place.=

Here's what I did (after I did 'ant buildjars' to build the jar= s):

=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 mkdir tests
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 cd tests
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 cp /home/bpendleton/derby/trunk/java/testing/or= g/apache/derbyTesting/system/mailjdbc/derby.properties .
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 export CLASSPATH=3D/home/bpendleton/derby/trunk= /jars/sane/derbyrun.jar:/home/bpendleton/derby/trunk/jars/sane/derbyTesting= .jar
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 java org.apache.derbyTesting.system.mailjdbc.Ma= ilJdbc embedded

The test then prints several pages of messages about the schema
processing, and then announces:

=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 ...
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 ij> CREATE INDEX attach_at_Index on attach(a= ttach_id);
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 0 rows inserted/updated/deleted
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 ij> created the schema
=C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0
and then it is running.

Perhaps you can triple-check your derby.properties file, looking
at https://db.apache.org/derby/= docs/10.12/devguide/cdevsetprop13074.html
to ensure your file is as expected by Derby.

thanks,

bryan
