Subject [jira] [Updated] (DERBY-6375) Suggest use of indexes in devguide's deadlock avoidance topic
Date Tue, 08 Oct 2013 16:06:42 GMT

Kim Haase updated DERBY-6375:

    Attachment: cdevconcepts53677.html

Thanks for the helpful description, Knut. Attaching DERBY-6375.diff and cdevconcepts53677.html,
adding another paragraph to the "Avoiding deadlocks" topic:

M src/devguide/cdevconcepts53677.dita

Is the placement okay, or should it be closer to the beginning of the topic? Please let me
know if any changes are needed.

> The developer's guide has a topic called Avoiding deadlocks. That topic should also mention
that reasonable indexes may help prevent deadlocks since they make table scans less likely
and reduce the number of locks obtained.
