Subject [jira] [Updated] (DERBY-6239) Document optional permission SQLPermission("deregisterDriver")
Date Fri, 11 Oct 2013 21:14:42 GMT

Kim Haase updated DERBY-6239:

    Attachment: DERBY-6239.zip

Thanks for all the info! So this applies to the embedded driver only, and the Admin Guide
is out of the picture.

Attaching DERBY-6239.diff, DERBY-6239.stat, and DERBY-6239.zip, with changes as follows:

M src/devguide/cdevbabejgjd.dita
M src/devguide/tdevdvlp20349.dita
M src/ref/rrefattrib16471.dita
M src/ref/rrefattribderegister.dita

I thought it would be useful to add something to "Shutting down the system" in the Dev Guide
too -- let me know if this makes sense. All suggestions are welcome!

> The documentation should mention the need for SQLPermission("deregisterDriver") during
system shutdown on Java SE 8 and higher. The permission is only needed by derby.jar. It's
an optional permission, only needed if system shutdown is invoked without the deregister=false
