Subject [jira] [Updated] (DERBY-6287) Don't use reflection to call Java 6 methods in FileUtil
Date Tue, 02 Jul 2013 14:01:20 GMT

Knut Anders Hatlen updated DERBY-6287:

    Attachment: derby-6287-1a.diff

The attached patch makes FileUtil call the Java 6 methods directly. It also removes some unused
fields from the Java 7 reflection code in that class.

All regression tests ran cleanly. Tested both on Java 6 and on Java 8.

> The FileUtil class uses reflection to call the following java.io.File methods:
> setWritable(boolean, boolean)
> setReadable(boolean, boolean)
> setExecutable(boolean, boolean)
> Reflection was used because the methods were introduced in Java 6, and the code had to
run on older platforms. Now Java 6 is the lowest supported platform, so we can call the methods
