Subject [jira] [Created] (DERBY-6158) mailjdbc test in networkserver configuration does not perform compress correctly if server is started in a different directory
Date Tue, 09 Apr 2013 01:49:15 GMT
Myrna van Lunteren created DERBY-6158:
-----------------------------------------

Summary: mailjdbc test in networkserver configuration does not perform compress
correctly if server is started in a different directory
                 Key: DERBY-6158
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-6158
             Project: Derby
          Issue Type: Bug
          Components: Test
            Reporter: Myrna van Lunteren
            Priority: Trivial

The mailjdbc test uses a hardcoded string 'maildb' for the databasename in the compress call
in org.apache.derbyTesting.system.mailjdbc.utils.DbTasks:compressTable.

Thus, if one decides to start the network server in a different directory than the client,
the compress calls fail.

At least the README.txt should be modified to clarify this.
Alternatively, the test could be modified to create the desired directory structure and start
network server if needed.
