Myrna van Lunteren commented on DERBY-5463:

Hi Rick, I somehow missed that you were asking this question.

It's been a while since I did this, but if you look at the release.properties file on the
10.8 branch, drdmaint is (currently) 1.
After running ant release for that branch, it was set to 0.
It did not prompt for drdamaint number.
That's different from the release id!
Perhaps it should figure out what it is in release.properties before starting, and unless
it gets modified, drdamaint should be unchanged.

We can look at this some more later - for 10.9 and 10.10 and trunk drdamaint is 0, so it doesn't
matter right now.

> Key: DERBY-5463
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-5463
> Project: Derby
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: Build tools
> Affects Versions:,
> Reporter: Myrna van Lunteren
> Priority: Minor
> ant release automatically sets drdamaint version to 0 in release.properties.
> However, on the 10.8 branch, drdamaint version had been increased to trigger a difference
in behavior with vs. without a particular check in; ant release caused this to get reset thus
breaking the fix.
> ant release should somehow assess the value of drdamaint.
