Bryan Pendleton commented on DERBY-6069:
----------------------------------------

Thanks for the updates, Christian.

I am still unclear about the fundamental version number issue.

The Derby jars specify

    Bundle-Version = 10.8.3000000.1405108

Is the syntax of this wrong?

Or are you saying that there is some other version number that we are supposed to provide?

It sounds like you are saying that we have to provide a version number for each
individual class or package, while our current approach is to provide a single
version number for the entire Bundle.

I like the idea of a single version number for the entire Bundle, and I'm confused about
what value it adds to specify a version number for each class in the jar.

The Derby project doesn't release new versions of individual classes, we only release
the entire set of Derby jar files.
