Subject [jira] [Commented] (DERBY-5890) Remove ij EXPECT command
Date Thu, 02 Aug 2012 19:18:03 GMT

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-5890?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13427539#comment-13427539

Rick Hillegas commented on DERBY-5890:

Here's another clue about the purpose of this unfinished, undocumented command:

The EXPECT command is turned from a NOP into a (still vacuous) command by setting the ij.expect
property to true. If that property is set to true, then on exit, ij is supposed to print out
some diagnostics which have the name "IJ_TestsRun0Pass12Fail34". See the quit() method in

This suggests that this functionality was intended for Cloudscape regression testing but never
actually used.

> Components: Tools
> Affects Versions:
> Reporter: Rick Hillegas
> The ij EXPECT command appears to be an unfinished prototype which has been in the code
since at least Cloudscape 3.5 and which was never exposed to users. It does nothing. See this
email thread: http://old.nabble.com/ij-EXPECT-command-to34242490.html#a34242490 We should
remove this abandoned code.
