Subject [jira] [Created] (DERBY-5884) Remove references to SQL-J in message text and in code comments.
Date Thu, 26 Jul 2012 18:23:34 GMT
Rick Hillegas created DERBY-5884:
------------------------------------

Summary: Remove references to SQL-J in message text and in code comments.
                 Key: DERBY-5884
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-5884
             Project: Derby
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Localization
    Affects Versions: 10.10.0.0
            Reporter: Rick Hillegas

There are several references to the term SQL-J in messages and code comments. SQL-J was the
name of the original Cloudscape SQL dialect. It is also confusingly similar to SQLJ, the name
of a largely abandoned industry effort to embed SQL code inside Java code. We should replace
SQL-J with SQL wherever we encounter it.

This chiefly affects the ij help message in toolsmessages.properties (and its localizations).
This also affects some comments in

java/engine/org/apache/derby/database/Database.java
java/engine/org/apache/derby/iapi/db/ConnectionInfo.java
java/engine/org/apache/derby/iapi/db/ConsistencyChecker.java
