Rick Hillegas commented on DERBY-5488:

Hi Knut,

This is my understanding of the behavior of setObject( int, BigInteger ) on CDC/FP 1.1:

1) It does not work today.

2) It did work in the first rev of the patch.

3) It does not work in the second patch.

Since the behavior of setObject( int, BigInteger ) depends on the behavior of setObject( int,
BigDecimal ) in this implementation, I moved the real logic into EmbedPreparedStatement20.setObjectConvert(),
where BigDecimal is handled. It seems to me that the logic in that method could be moved into
EmbedPreparedStatement.setObject(). Then both setObject( int, BigDecimal ) and setObject(
int, BigInteger ) would work on CDC/FP 1.1.

I could do that in a follow-on patch. Does that sound reasonable?

> In addition to the JDBC 4.1 bits which were visible in the Java 7 javadoc, a couple other
items appear in the JDBC 4.1 Maintenance Review spec. This spec has been published on the
JCP website at http://download.oracle.com/otndocs/jcp/jdbc-4_1-mrel-eval-spec/index.html.
I will attach a functional spec for the remaining bits.
